New FDNY video shows UL FSRI research in practice.

UL FSRI has been partnering with the FDNY for over a decade to bring fire science to the streets. Produced by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), this video provides real-life examples of how they are continuing to put UL FSRI research into practice on the fireground. This episode of the FDNY Chief’s Corner highlights specific uses of exterior water streams and the importance of fireground communication and coordination.

UL FSRI would like to thank Chief of Operations Thomas J. Richardson and Chief of the Fire Training Academy and UL FSRI Coordinated Fire Attack Technical Panel Member Frank Leeb for allowing us to share this training video with our followers.

To learn more about the research behind the tactics utilized in this video, check out our Study of Coordinated Fire Attack Utilizing Acquired Structures project page.

UL's Fire Safety Research Institute is dedicated to increasing firefighter knowledge to reduce injuries and deaths in the fire service and in the communities they serve.
