UL FSRI Presents at the 2013 IAFF Redmond Symposium
UL FSRI Director Steve Kerber teamed up with NIST’s Dan Madrzykowski to present “Fire Behavior and Fire Ground Considerations” during the plenary session of the IAFF Redmond Symposium. You can view the presentation courtesy of IAFFTV.
In addition to the Plenary Session, Steve and Dan were joined by Battalion Chief Derek Alkonis of the Training Services Section of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, to present 2 – 4 hour workshops titled “NIST and UL Research: Studying Fire Behavior and Fireground Tactics.” The presentation explains why fire dynamics knowledge and research are important to firefighters everywhere. Details are provided on how the fire environment and fire service are changing, the basics of fire dynamics for the fire service, numerous tactical considerations and how the LA County Fire department is implementing the results of the research into its operations. This presentation was also filmed and shared by IAFFTV.
In order for you to bring this information to your departments we are making the 193 Slide Powerpoint with 40+ embedded videos from the 4 hour workshop available for download by clicking this link: NIST and UL Research: Studying Fire Behavior and Fireground Tactics.
